Ella Mae Merrill, 76, of Baytown, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2011, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born April 20, 1934, in Rochester, New York, to Edmund Leon Farr and Jennie Emma Keller Farr. A member of the Baptist faith, Mrs. Merrill was a long-time employee of Goose Creek CISD in the food service department. Considered a wonderful cook by friends and family, she also enjoyed crocheting, woodworking, collecting dolls, and making gambling trips to Louisiana.
Preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Harvey Joseph Baker and Frank Carl Merrill; and daughter, Barbara Merrill; Mrs. Merrill is survived by her children, Scott Merrill, of Dayton, Colleen and Jimmy Moody, of Baytown and Linda Merrill, of Dansville, New York; brothers, Sonny Farr, Butch Shaw, Dwayne Shaw and Richard Shaw; sisters, Barbara Walker and Kathy Petiffer; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; and many other friends and family members who will miss her. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 3, 2011, from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. at Crespo and Jirrels Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will follow at 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Crespo & Jirrels.

David L. Farr, 78, of 114 Old Pittsfield Road, Youngsville, PA, died Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Rouse Home.
David was born May 22, 1935 in Warren, PA, the son of the late Jacob and Mary A. (Prokopchik) Farr. A lifelong area resident, David was employed at Betts Industries, holding various positions for fortyeight years. Following his retirement from Betts, he worked part time with Interlectric, also in Warren. He was a very active member of the Youngsville Free Methodist Church for more than forty years, serving as Treasurer for several years. David enjoyed his work, traveling, vintage autos, car shows, and antiques. He also loved to fish and garden. He took great pride in having the first early tomato amongst his gardening peers!
David especially enjoyed his family, who likewise, will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his wife of fifty eight years, Loretta (Trawick) Farr, whom he married at the Grace United Methodist Church of Warren on November 25, 1955; two sons, James A. Farr and his wife Patricia, Youngsville, and John R. Farr, also of Youngsville; a brother, William R. Farr and his wife JoAnn, Falconer, NY; two grandchildren, James A. Farr and his wife Lisa, Houghton, LA, and Linda Marie Farr and her companion Walter, Sugar Grove, PA; three greatgrandchildren, Lucy Farr, Jackson Farr, and Gracie Kuzminski; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David A. Farr, in 1989.
Friends will be received at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, 1003 Penna. Ave. E., Warren, PA 16365, on Monday, March 24, from 6 to 8 pm.
Friends will also be received at the Youngsville Free Methodist Church, 179 Davis Street, Youngsville, PA, 16371, on Tuesday, March 25, for one hour prior to a funeral service to be held there at 11 am., with Rev. Rick Hamrick, pastor, and Rev. Kathy Thompson, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery, Warren.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Youngsville Free Methodist Church.

M. Marion Rogers of Medfield, a retired nurse, died Monday at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. She was 81.
Born in Woodridge, N.J., she moved to Salem Depot, N.H., when she was 12. At age 24, she moved to Medfield.
She was educated in Salem public schools and attended the University of New Hampshire, majoring in nursing, but later changed her major to zoology. She was a member of the Phi Sigma Honorary Biological Society.
She graduated in 1945, earning a bachelor's degree in zoology. She later entered the Francis Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, where she earned a master's degree in nursing.
Mrs. Rogers became very involved in church after moving to Medfield. She was president of the Junior League of the Second Congregational Church of Medfield. She later became deacon. She was a charter member of the Medfield League of Women Voters, was a member of an exercise group called TOPS and participated in a weekly Bible study group.
She enjoyed swimming, ice skating, canning vegetables and vacationing at Cow Island, Lake Winnipesaukee, N.H.
Wife of the late William F. Jr., Mrs. Rogers is survived by three sons, Frank A. of Wareham, George E. of Walpole and Thomas H. of Medfield; a daughter, Mary Ellen Viens of Medfield; a brother, Benjamin Farr of Hawkins, Texas; three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held yesterday at United Church of Christ, Medfield.
Burial was in Vine Lake Cemetery, Medfield.
