Isabel WATSON  (James, John, John) married first, 27 Oct. 1583, as his second wife, RICHARD ELLITHORPE. His first wife, whom he married 6 June 1577, was Elizabeth Lee, who gave him two children: Thomas, baptized 1 Jan. 1579/80, who died young, perhaps that Thomas Ellithorpe who was buried 28 Jan. 1587/8; and William, baptized 21 July 1581. She probably died in December 1581, when there is a record of the baptisms of two Elizabeth Ellithorpes, one of which may be an error for a burial. Isabel gave Richard Ellithorpe five children, four of which appear in his will, dated 10 Sept. and proved 8 Dec. 1597. He left her his "lease of the farmhold" for 10 years, if she marry, then it goes to his son William. He also willed her "10 years in the great close at Hasholme," residue to sons Thomas and Christopher and daughters Frances and Mary, executors. Witnesses: James Watson, Robert Patchitte, Edward Palmer, Robert Millington, and proven by the widow, the executors being minors.
Isabel married secondly, by 3 Feb. 1600, THOMAS BRIGHAM and by him had daughters Constance and Anne, for whom see the Brigham genealogy and the Crosby article by Mr. Prindle, mentioned above. Since Isabel's will has already appeared in print it will not be summarized here.
