Mr. F.W. Farr, 66, died this Friday morning at a local hospital after a short illness.. 

A native of Pennsylvania and the son of the late Jonas W. Farr and Flora B. Stevens..

Mr. Farr was a retired Stores Department employee of Seaboard Coast Line Railroad Company in Wilmington, NC when after retiring, he moved to Waycross about four years ago..

He married Miss Thelma H. Brown of Waycross and was a Baptist by faith..

He is survived by his wife,  a son Michael Farr of St. Petersburg, Fla., a sister Mrs. Katie Moore.... 

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm tomorrow at the Miles - Odum Chapel .. The Deacons of the Deenwood Baptist Church will be honorary pallbearers...

Allendale - Graveside services for Quay Benjamin Farr, 64, of Allendale, who died Monday in Medical College Hospital in Charleston, will be at Swallow Savannah Cemetery at 4 pm Wednesday.

Born in Medix Run, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Flora Stevens and Jonas Farr. He moved to Allendale 33 years ago and for the past eight years, because of ill health, he was retired from his business. 

Surviving are his wife, Mrs Olivia Martin Farr of the home; two sons, Quay B Farr Jr of Cowpens and Jonas A Farr, Allendale; four daughters, Mrs A K Austin, Wrightstown, Pa, Mrs James Sidoti, Albany, NY, Mrs Ralph Eckles, Sharon, Pa, and Mrs Gerhart Anderson, Columbus, Ga; one brother, Francis W Farr, Wilmington, NC, and three sisters, Mrs Martin Holt and Mrs Elizabeth Farr Granto of Waycross, Ga, and Mrs Mae Farr Moore, St Louis, Missouri.*

A former Waycrossan was killed in a bizarre accident early Saturday when his car overturned after he apparently attempted to avoid hitting a large bear on US 1 Highway near Folkston ; Fish & Game Commission said; That was the largest 'paw print' of bear tracks he had ever seen ..

CPO Farr, 39, was enroute to Waycross from Jacksonville Naval Air Station when the accident occurred at 2 am, 8 miles north of Folkston ..

A native of Ware County, a graduate of Waycross High School and attended the University of Virginia while stationed in Norfolk, Virginia .
He had lived in Jacksonville for the past couple of years and yet made frequent visits to Waycross to see his mother, Mrs. Mary Farr ; his father is the late Capt. Pierce Wallace Farr (whom he was killed in the line of duty ..)

He was an Electronics Technician, stationed at Mayport Naval Station Jacksonville; he had been in service for 21 years and was planning on retiring in August ...

Survivors include his wife; the former Miss Judith G. Hickox of Schlatterville; 
two daughters: 
Miss Laura Ann Farr and Miss Judith Ellen Farr (both of Schlatterville)
a sister: Mrs. Mary Ann Dixon (J.W.) of Hawesville, Ky.

Carolyn Calvert Farr, 83, returned to her heavenly home on December 16, 2017, surrounded by her loving family, after a valiant battle with a long illness. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.

Carolyn was born to the late Ray Ashmore and Mamie Malone Calvert in Fingerville, SC on July 26, 1934. She was immersed in the Christian community that would be her lifelong support from an early age. She worked as an educator at Cowpens High School also an employee of Chapman Concrete.

Carolyn was blessed with a large and loving family. She married her late husband Quay B. Farr Jr. on January 20, 1953 in Fingerville, SC. After Quay’s young departure from his earthly home Carolyn became the sole provider for their four children. 

Carolyn loved the Lord first and her family second. She was a 1952 Boiling Springs High School graduate where she was the homecoming queen. She attended Newberry College, where she met the love of her life and spouse, Quay. She enjoyed cooking, the Gamecocks, and was once an active member in the Garden Club. Having been an athlete herself, Carolyn, was an avid sports fan cheering on her children and grandchildren as their number one fan. 

Carolyn is survived by her four children: Renee Reid (late Mike, Sr), Quay Benjamin Farr (Trissie), Sarah Garrett (Jerry), and Jane Brannon (Philip). Carolyn was also blessed to enjoy her 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Additional survivors to Carolyn are her siblings, Raymond Calvert (Lib), Corvis Calvert (Martha) and Tim Calvert (Janice). She is preceded in death by her best friend and spouse, Quay Benjamin Farr, Jr., sister, Joan Aey, and Mary Erco Radford.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Monday, December 18, 2017 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 1:30 PM in the chapel, conducted by the Rev. Wayne Major. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.

Evelyn Farr Sidoti, 91, at rest on Thursday, March 5, 2015. Evelyn was born in Varnville, S.C., the daughter of the late Quay B. and Olivia (Martin) Farr. 

Evelyn moved to the Albany area in the 1940's, and worked in the Accounting Dept. of New York Telephone in Menands for many years. Evelyn was an active member of the Church of St. Madeleine Sophie, Guilderland and was a member of the New York Telephone Pioneers. 

Evelyn was a quiet person who enjoyed time at home with her family and being outdoors working in her yard. Evelyn was the beloved wife of James J. Sidoti, whom she married May 14, 1949 and who passed away January 9, 2008: beloved mother of Geraldine "Geri" (Paul) Keba of Clifton Park and Jean (Dan) Mosher of Guilderland; beloved grandmother of James (Asha) Keba of California and Elizabeth, Kathleen and Christopher Mosher, all of Guilderland; beloved sister of the late Catherine "Kitty" Eckles, Grace Austin, Dorothy Anderson, Quay Farr Jr. and Jonas Farr. Evelyn is also survived by a great- grandson, Jordan Keba and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Evelyn were private. She was interred in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. -

ALLENDALE - Memorial services for Jonas A. Farr, 66, of 399 Warren Street, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Chapel of Smith-Rhoden Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Allendale Rescue Squad. 

Mr. Farr died Wednesday morning in Colleton Medical Center. Born in Allendale, August 16, 1934, he was a son of the late Quay Benjamin Farr Sr. and Olivia Martin Farr. He was a former National Guardsman and was a retired Tube Operator of Westinghouse in Hampton. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Allendale. 

Surviving are his wife, Marian Morris Farr, of the home; son, Alfred Farr, Allendale; daughters, Jonie Farr and Kelly Farr, both of Allendale; two grandchildren.

ALLENDALE - Frances Marian Morris Farr, 78, widow of Jonas Alfred Farr, died Wednesday, October 20, 2010. 

Mrs. Farr was a native of Barnwell and a daughter of Roy and Bertie Hadwin Morris. She worked for Southern Bell as an operator for many years and retired from Queen Carpet. She was a Baptist. Marian was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and special aunt. 

A graveside service will be Sunday, October 24, 2010, in Swallow Savannah Cemetery with the Rev. E. Finley Limehouse officiating. 

Survivors include one son, Alfred Farr; two daughters, Jonie Farr and Kelly M. Leppert (Jim); two brothers, Jack Morris and Jimmy Morris (Ann); two sisters, Marjorie M. Brown (Sam) and Mell M. Furman (Richard); five grandchildren, Marion "Bubba Kay", Amy, Lucas, Lexi and Dakota. She was predeceased by one brother, Jennings Morris. 

The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
