FARR, GEORGE W., now living in Sacramento, was born in Littleton, New Hampshire, on the 18th of September, 1846. He remained in his native State, working on his father's farm and clerking in a store till 1867; came to California in 1871, and engaged as clerk in a hotel. In October, 1874, Mr. Farr was appointed Chief Clerk in the Sacramento Land Office, which position he held for four years; is now a member of the firm of McFarland & Farr, land and mine attorneys. Mr. Farr was married, January 6, 1874, to Lizzie A. Deal, adopted daughter of the Rev. Dr. Deal. They have one boy and one girl, viz.: George Albert, born January 10, 1876, and Stella D., born October 28, 1874. Mr. Farr's Post Office is Sacramento.

Died in Plymouth, February 11, Mrs Kate B, wife of Warren G Chase, aged 33. The Plymouth Record, February 17, 1894, v8, no 9, p6, entered as a Plymouth local.

Mrs Kate Farr Chase, who died in this village February 10th, after a brief illness, was born in the township of Groton in January 1861. In July 1881 she was wedded to Mr Warren Chase of this place with whom she spent a happy married life. Mrs Chase was a woman of lovely spirit and one who endeared herself to all her friends. Although she lived a quiet, homelike life, her influence for good was to be seen and felt and now she has gone from among her friends no more not to be seen in the flesh, they yet have left to them pleasant thoughts and memories that love lets to go out. She made home happy for her husband and mother, who will miss her as the weeks and months go by and her sweet presence is not among them save in the hallowed memory of love. But "it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" when we can feel, it true that life is ever lord of death and can know that love can never lose its own. We commend to these bereaved hearts the Gospel of the larger hope that promises spirit life for all.
