Frances C. (Salsman) Farr, 93, of Millville passed away Monday, June 22, 2015, at Geisinger-Bloomsburg Hospital.

She was born Jan. 8, 1922, in Laceyville, a daughter of the late Stanley and Bernice (McCarl) Salsman.

Frances attended schools in Laceyville. She has lived at her present address for 72 years. She worked for Columbia Silk Mill in Bloomsburg, and the former nursing home in Eyersgrove. She enjoyed putting puzzles together, making quilts and crocheting, loved watching the Phillies, and most of all, spending time with her family.

She is survived by four children: Janet Baylor and husband, Don, of Muncy; Leah Baylor and husband, Larry, of Nescopeck; Donna Gerringer of Millville; and John Farr and wife, Beverly, of Millville; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren; as well as a sister, Alice Reichart, of Hegins.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, John Farr, who passed away in 1972; a son, Raymond Farr; two daughters: Ruth Shadle and Faye Cunningham; four brothers: Clarence, Burton, Edward, and Walter Salsman; and four sisters: Marian Salsman; Gertrude Young; Lois Hall; and Emma Lewis.

Services will be Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Bunnell Funeral Home Inc., 179 E. Main St., Millville, with Pastor Bill Vanhorn officiating. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery.

John L. Farr, 69, of Millville went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, at his home.

John was born Jan. 10, 1947, in Millville, a son of the late John L. Sr. and Frances (Salsman) Farr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Farr, and two sisters: Ruth Shadle and Faye Cunningham.

He was a 1966 graduate of Millville High School. John lived his entire life in the Millville area. He was in the Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for North Central Secure Treatment Unit, the former TRW and Textron, all in Danville. He enjoyed hunting and loved fishing. John loved spending time with his grandsons.

John is survived by his wife of 24 years, the former Beverly Monger, to whom he was married on Dec. 31, 1991; two sons: Christopher P. Farr, and his wife Caroline of Lightstreet, and Michael S. Farr of Jerseytown; four grandsons: Cameron, Carson, Gavin and Will Farr, and three sisters: Janet Baylor and husband Don of Muncy; Leah Baylor and husband Larry of Nescopeck, and Donna Gerringer of Millville.

Services will be Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, at 10 a.m. from the Bunnell Funeral Home Inc., 179 E. Main St., Millville, PA 17846. John’s brother-in law, the Rev. Andrew Walton, will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Paul J. Shadle, 64, of 2012 State Route 254, Orangeville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, at Bloomsburg Hospital.
Born March 22, 1942, in Berwick, a son of the late Warren J. and Pearl E. Mussleman Shadle, he attended Benton High School and retired from Magee Rieter of Bloomsburg. He was a member of Ebenezer Faith Bible Church of Berwick and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth E. Farr Shadle, who passed away Nov. 15, 1998.
Surviving are three sons: Doyle L. Shadle and his wife, Lorie, of Bloomsburg; Duane P. Shadle and his wife, Charlotte, of Orangeville; and Danny A. Shadle of Orangeville; one daughter, Denise, and her husband, Barry Laubach; seven grandchildren; three great-grandsons; one brother, David A. Shadle of Berwick; one sister, Martha Bedient of Berwick; and his companion, Leo Jacqueline Behm.
Memorial services will be Monday at 7 p.m. at Bunnell Funeral Home Inc., 179 E. Main St., Millville, with the Rev. Mark Stoker of Rohrsburg Christian Church officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Helen L. Christman, 91, of Elmira, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007 at St. Joseph's Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility.

Helen was born Feb. 8, 1916 in Sayre, the daughter of the late Joseph F. Sr. and Mary Tereschi Cost.

She is survived by: her brother and sister-in-law, Joseph F. Jr. and Phyliss Cost, of Sayre; sister Theresa Krotzer of Vestal; nephews Thomas (Bert) Cockroft of Kissimmee, Fla., John (Sharon) Krotzer of Vestal, and Joseph F. (Linda) Cost III of Elmira; nieces Louise (Arnold) Gavette of Van Etten and Patricia (Andy) Gibson of Va.; several great-nieces and -nephews; and many special, caring friends. Helen was predeceased by: her husband, Percy J. Christman; brothers Thomas, Vincent and Paul Cost; sisters Elizabeth Alamo and Catherine Cockroft; and her niece, Mary Ellen Miller.

Helen graduated from Sayre High School, where she was the school's first drum majorette. She loved bingo and to knit and crochet. She donated her labors of love to many charitable organizations, but most of all she enjoyed her dear friends. She was a social "butterfly" who was always ready to go. She was interested in everyone, and she was interesting. She will be missed.

Interment of her cremains will be at St. James Cemetery, Waverly, in spring 2008. Donations in Helen's memory may be directed to St. Joseph's Hospital SNF, 555 E. Market St., Elmira NY 14901. Arrangements by McInerny Funeral Home.
