Joseph F. Farr, 81, of Stittville, passed away December 9, 2014, in Rome. He was born July 12, 1933, in Rome, the son of Homer and Irene Lince Farr. Joseph attended Holland Patent School and was a member of the US Army Reserves for eight years. He married Janet Edwards on September 26, 1953. Mr. Farr retired from Utica Corporation in 1994 after 42 years of employment. He is survived by his wife, Janet; two daughters, Joanne (Douglas) Pelton, Rome, and Jill (Peter) Fenton, Floyd; grandchildren, Dean (Jessica) Chrzan, David (Tanya) Chrzan, Jake Fenton and girlfriend, Sarah, and Sallyanne Fenton and fiance, Jason; great-grandchildren, Alexander, Devin and Logan Chrzan; sister, Doris Rickmyer, Floyd; brothers, Homer (Isabel) Farr, Poland, and Charles Farr, Barneveld; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Stuart (Verna) Farr and Clifford (Patricia) Farr; brother-in-law, Ralph Rickmyer; sister-in-law, Shirley Farr; and in-laws, Owen and Annie Edwards, Katherine and Raymond Pugh, Raymond and Ann Edwards, and Norma and William Bonville. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing trips with the men, and bird watching; he loved his radios and music, and especially spending time with the four grandchildren and three little boys. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the Stittville United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Saturday, 12:00 p.m., at Stittville United Methodist Church, Main St., Stittville. Spring interment will be in Townsend Cemetery.
